Product Information

A pair of antique silver-plated candle snuffers. J. Gilbert c 1812.
Scissor action with extinguishing box, scroll handles, floral detail, hallmarked.
The snuffer works well, and sits on ball feet, which are all intact.  There is wear commensurate with age and use over the past 200+ years.
During - and before - Georgian times these tools were used to snuff out the candle and the small receptacle caught the trimmed bit of wick.
They have become sought after again today with the popularity of candles - and scented candles - in home decor.

Please note this is a unique antique item and once it is gone, it is gone!

Dimensions: 7” long (170mm) X 2.25” (58mm)
