This enchanting vintage Butler & Wilson curled up cat brooch from the late 1980s/early 1990s is a true testament to the brand's signature style—bold, glamorous, and whimsical. The brooch depicts a stylised sleeping cat, its body coiled into an elegant spiral of sparkling clear crystals that catch the light with every movement. The cat's eyes are formed by two striking emerald-green marquise-cut crystals, giving the cat a watchful expression.
Adding to the brooch’s sculptural charm, bold, radiating metal whiskers and crystal eyes emerge from the face, lending it a graphic, almost art-deco feel. Two jewel-toned drops featuring beads in hues of black, aqua, sapphire and emerald are suspended from the articulated tail, giving a gentle sense of motion and additional visual intrigue. Set in a dark silver-tone metal, this charming brooch stays true to Butler & Wilson's playful, eclectic spirit.
Dating to the late 1980s or early 1990s, the brooch is in very good vintage condition commensurate with its age, with all stones and drops present and secure.
