An antique silver-plated Georgian brass candle snuffer/wick trimmer with ornate detail. Circa 1790.
The snuffer works well; there is some wear where the snuffer been used over the past 200 years and some of the foliate decoration is missing commensurate with age.
During - and before - Georgian times these tools were used to snuff out the candle and the small receptacle caught the trimmed bit of wick.
They have become sought after again today with the popularity of candles - and scented candles - in home decor.
Please note this is a unique antique item and once it is gone, it is gone!
Dimensions: 7 ½” long (190 mm) X 2 ¼” (58mm) at widest point
