Classic vintage 1970s Christian Dior large faux mabe pearl clip on earrings with polished and textured gilded rope surround.  Can be dressed up or down - the perfect match to a dress, a suit or jeans.


The polished gold tone metal sets off high lustre faux pearls. They will make a wonderful gift.

Date 1970s. In very good condition commensurate with their age.

Christian Dior's reputation as one of the most celebrated couturiers of the 20th century was launched in 1947 with his collection, the 'New Look' celebrating ultra-femininity and opulence in women's fashion.  He launched his first collection of fashion jewellery to complement his garments in 1948 and hired some of the talented jewellery designers of the time to design collections, such as Kramer, Henkel and Grosse designers who were all active during the 1950s. Such pieces from those years can be recognized by the markings 'Chr. Dior' Germany. Christian Dior jewellery is very collectable today.
