Product Information
A rare collector's piece: 24k gold-plated bar brooch by Christian Dior, created in 1989 to mark the bicentenary of the French Revolution. This striking piece features three circular coins exclusively minted for Christian Dior by the Monnaie de Paris (The French Mint).
The central, larger coin is adorned with an elegant ribbon motif, the iconic CD emblem, and the date 1989. On either side, two coordinating medallions are engraved with “RF” (République Française) and the year 1789, each encircled by classic laurel wreath detailing.
This brooch is the larger from the series, distinguished by its bold, structured presence and more architectural silhouette compared to the smaller editions.
Presented in excellent vintage condition with a rich gold finish. The pin fastening is tight and secure - probably unused.
Dimensions: 7 x 3 cm | 2.76 x 1.18 inch
Christian Dior (1905-1957) was one of the most celebrated couturiers of the 20th century. In 1947 Dior launched the 'New Look' collection celebrating ultra-femininity and glamour, perfectly capturing the mood of post-war society. The following year, Dior launched his first collection of fashion jewellery to complement his clothing.
Today, Christian Dior jewellery is highly sought after. Renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship, quality and timeless elegance, mid-century Dior pieces are experiencing a surge in demand, with prices climbing as they become increasingly rare. Jewellery created by Dior from the 1970s onwards is also following a similar upward trajectory.
