A Rare Vintage Bunnykins Plate, Wedding

This charming plate in 'Wedding' design signed by Barbara Vernon is a very rare plate in the Royal Doulton Bunnkyins series.

The Bunnykins series was based on drawings by English Nun Barbara Vernon during the 1930s, depicting Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny and Jemima Puddle Duck from the Beatrix Potter stories.  Bunnykins china was used by Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret and became a popular present given as a birthday or christening gift. 

Designed and signed by Barbara Vernon beween 1937 and 1952, the  backstamp to this plate dates it to the early 1950s.

The plate is in very good condition commensurate with its age with some small kiln marks on the reverse side.

It would make a very special christening or wedding gift.
