Product Information

A fine silver sweetheart brooch in marquise form with a rose gold horse shoe and ivy leaf detail, hallmarked 'Ward Brothers' Chester 1919.

Sweetheart brooches proliferated during World 1; they were often given to their sweethearts by members of the armed forces before they left for the front. Heavy with hidden meaning, ivy leaves symbolised life and eternity, and horseshoes were a symbol of good luck.

In very good condition, with some small marks commensurate with its age.

Please note this is an antique brooch and there is only one available.
