      About the Brand: Sphinx

Founded in 1948 in Chiswick, London, Sphinx was the premier British manufacturer of high-end costume jewellery, renowned for pieces that possessed the weight, detail, and "feel" of fine jewelry. During their golden era in the 1960s and 70s, their craftsmanship was so highly regarded that they were commissioned to produce "bijoux de couture" for legendary designers such as Kenneth Jay Lane (KJL), Butler & Wilson and Nina Ricci, as well as exclusive collections for luxury department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.

Today, signed Sphinx pieces - often identified by an oval name stamp and a unique catalogue number - are highly collectible. They remain a favourite among vintage enthusiasts for their vibrant  cabochons, superior gold-plating, and timeless Mid-Century glamour.
