The Art Nouveau period flourished from approximately the 1880s to the early 1910s, reaching its peak around 1890–1910. This artistic movement emerged as a reaction against the academic art, industrialization, and historic revival styles of the 19th century.

Art Nouveau is characterized by its emphasis on organic, flowing lines, natural forms like flowers and plants, and intricate details. It influenced architecture, decorative arts, graphic design, and more.
