ProductInformation

Bring a piece of Edwardian sporting history to your collection with this exquisite antique sterling silver tennis racket brooch.

Made in 1902 at the height of the Edwardian era, this pin perfectly encapsulates the lawn tennis obsession of the early 20th century.

The brooch features engine-turned grip lines along the handle, open woven mesh strings, and a central silver tennis ball. The reverse is stamped with a complete set of British hallmarks.
  • Maker's Mark (C & N): Assayed to Crisford & Norris, a celebrated Birmingham firm famous for their Edwardian novelty silver items.
  • Standard Mark: The Lion Passant, guaranteeing solid .925 sterling silver.
  • Town Mark: The Anchor for the historic Birmingham Assay Office.
  • Date Letter: The Italic lowercase "c" confirming its 1902 date.
Condition: In good condition commensurate with its age.  Closes with a traditional antique open "C" clasp mechanism. Fitted with the characteristic long steel pin of the period, which extends beyond the brooch in the manner of antique brooches - a hallmark of pre-safety-catch construction and a lovely authentic detail.
