Product Information
This fabulous vintage necklace was crafted by Grossé, a master manufacturer who famously produced jewellery for Christian Dior.
The pendant features a heart-cut, mesmerising deep blue-mauve crystal in a striking tanzanite-like colour, set beneath two clear baguette-cut stones. It hangs from a sleek rhodium-plated snake chain.
The adaptable chain measures 16 to 18 inches and finishes with the signed Grossé charm.
The necklace is in excellent vintage condition and comes with its original Grossé box. The box shows some sign of wear (please refer to photos).
It fastens with a secure lobster clasp, which features a charm, also signed Grossé.
Length: 39 - 45 cm | 16 - 18 inches
Please note this is a vintage piece and there is only one available.
Henkel and Grossé was founded in the famous goldsmith town of Pforzheim, Germany in the early 20th century by Heinrich Henkel and Florentin Grossé. The company quickly became known for its high-quality costume jewellery and soon had contracts with Harrods and Saks in New York. Designers, including Elsa Schiaparelli and Jeanne Lanvin, worked with the company in Paris, and Hollywood stars such as Marlene Dietrich and Greta Garbo wore their jewellery. After the Second World War the firm became known as Grossé.
In 1955 Christian Dior granted Grossé the exclusive licence to manufacture his jewellery designs and the company produced both their own jewellery and jewellery for Dior. The jewellery was of very high-quality, made from gold-plated and rhodium-plated metal. Grossé held the licence to manufacture Dior jewellery for 50 years, until 2005. Today, Grossé jewellery is highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
