Vintage Hermès enamel bangle featuring a multicolour celestial-inspired motif with clouds, stars and decorative scrollwork on a midnight-black background.

Made for Hermes in Austria by Michaela Frey.

Very good overall condition with vibrant enamel and light surface wear to the silver-tone edges consistent with age and use.

Michaela Frey founded her eponymous workshop in 1951 in Vienna, Austria, after graduating from the Academy of Applied Arts. She famously perfected a meticulous fire-enamel technique infused with 24-karat gold leaf. Following her passing in 1980, her business partner Dr. Friedrich Wille took over management, introducing bold new geometric shapes and artistic collections, eventually rebranding the historic house as FREYWILLE. During the golden era of the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, this celebrated Viennese workshop was commissioned to handcraft Hermès' iconic printed enamel jewelry collections.
