A beautiful pair of vintage sunburst statement earrings designed by Kenneth Jay Lane (KJL).

The earrings are centred with a deep amethyst purple faceted crystal framed by a classic, textured gold-plated openwork ray design. The heavy gold-plating retains its brilliant, original shine. 

These classic earrings are lightweight and comfortable for everyday wear, with a flattering silhouette that suits any occasion.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition, probably unworn.

Closure: Post backs for pierced ears,complete with clear silicone comfort discs for a secure fit.

Hallmark: Signed with the official © KJL stamp on the reverse side.

Dimensions: 3 cm x 3 cm | 1.2 inches x 1.2 inches.

Era: The earrings date circa 1990s.

 

About the Designer - Kenneth Jay Lane

'Elegance, luxury and good taste never go out of style', said Kenneth Jay Lane (1932–2017), a renowned American jewellery designer who made faux jewels fashionable. He initially trained as a fashion designer, working with high profile brands such as Christian Dior and set up his own label in 1963. He rose to prominence when Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor, started to wear his designs, which led to a clientele including Audrey Hepburn, Greta Garbo, Jacqueline Kennedy, Princess Diana and many more. His timeless designs continue to attract style icons today.
