Vintage Butler & Wilson Peacock Brooch

A magnificent large vintage brooch by Butler & Wilson, sculpted in black coated metal in a fully three-dimensional form (see images). The piece features a beautifully detailed peacock with its tail dramatically fanned, set with sparkling golden and graduating green crystals that intensify in colour towards the peacock's face. Its body is adorned with shimmering green-toned aurora borealis crystals.

Symbolising prosperity and immortality, the peacock is a timeless motif in Indian art and culture. Butler & Wilson, famed for its bold, artistic designs, has often drawn on this regal bird for inspiration, capturing its elegance and flamboyance in dazzling crystal creations.

In excellent vintage condition, possibly unworn.  The brooch closes with a secure rollover clasp and all crystals are intact. Supplied in original box.
