A very beautiful mid-20th century Venetian Murano glass necklace, featuring richly coloured handmade 'wedding cake' beads in a vibrant sky blue tone. Each glass bead is individually crafted with raised pink floral motifs, shimmering gold gemstone aventurine accents and intricate swirls - a testament to the artistry of traditional Murano glassmakers.
The necklace closes securely with a gold-tone ribbed barrel clasp.

Murano glassmaking dates back over 700 years, with artisans on the Venetian island of Murano renowned for their exquisite craftsmanship and innovative techniques. Among their many creations, wedding cake beads emerged in the 20th century - delicately handmade glass beads adorned with raised floral swirls and shimmering gold accents. Their ornate, frosted appearance earned them their charming name, reminiscent of decorative icing on a wedding cake.
