Own a piece of fashion history with this rare pair of Butler & Wilson clip-on earrings. A documented 'book piece,' this design is featured in Vivienne Becker’s seminal 1990 book, 'Rough Diamonds', the Butler & Wilson collection.

These striking art-deco style penguins feature glossy black enamel and brilliant pavé-set crystals housed in a polished silver-tone frame. This pair is in remarkable vintage condition, retaining all their original sparkle and lustre.

Signed with early B&W backstamp on reverse of one of the earrings.

Dimensions: 4.3 cm x 3.3 cm  |   1.7 inches x 1.3 inch

In excellent vintage condition with tight, secure earclips, no loss to the enamel and all crystals are present. Date 1980s.

Supplied with box which still retains the original tissue paper.

 

Manufacturer's Provenance:
These earrings were produced for Butler & Wilson by the prestigious British jewellery house Sphinx. Known for their superior craftsmanship, Sphinx pieces from this era are highly collectible. The reverse features both the early "B&W" signature and the Sphinx design code E2769.
